CS2000 is a 3 storey 35,000sqft office building which was specifically designed and constructed provide new administrative headquarters for gas distributors Wales & West Utilities and was designed to house 350 staff.
The building was designed to reflect the high quality set-out in the Celtic Spring Master Plan design guide, whilst also complying with all relevant statutory regulations. The environmental criteria was to provide a constant and controlled internal temperature, and to achieve a BREEAM ‘good’ rating.
The building is of steel frame construction founded on traditional concrete pad and strip footings. External walls are clad with metallic flat composite cladding panels with large areas of curtain walling glazed in high performance suncool solar controlled glass. Among the unique characteristics of the building are an impressive full height glazed atrium reception area and feature entrance canopy.
